Many couples come to me thinking they have to choose: do you want the cozy intimacy of a private mountain wedding, or the elevated look and feel of a luxury celebration? Amanda and Reece’s Silverthorne wedding was the perfect reminder that you don’t have to compromise—you can absolutely have both. Their day unfolded at a breathtaking VRBO tucked right into the Rockies, and it offered everything: the comfort and privacy of a home, the sweeping mountain views of a luxury venue, and the upscale touches that made the whole experience feel polished and elevated. It was the best of both worlds, and it proved that when you pair thoughtful details with the natural beauty of Colorado, magic happens.

A Silverthorne Wedding Ceremony Immersed in Fall Foliage
Their ceremony space felt like stepping straight into a Colorado postcard. The property opened up to sweeping mountain views, and the trees were showing off in their peak autumn colors. The air was crisp, and the light was golden.
Annie the Flower Hunter created the most stunning floral installation. What I loved most was how it complemented the natural beauty instead of competing with it. The rich, seasonal tones and textures blended with the fall foliage. It was elevated, but still organic and effortless.
Because the guest list was so intimate, every single person had a front-row seat. It was personal, and yet still carried that “wow” factor you’d expect from a luxury wedding.

Elevated Design in an Intimate Setting
This luxury lodge had soaring ceilings, a grand stone fireplace, and sleek finishes. It all carried the kind of elevated ambiance you’d expect from a high-end venue, but with the comfort of a private home. It was cozy and inviting, while still giving that editorial-worthy polish.
One of my favorite parts of the day was the “flip.” After the ceremony, the same outdoor space where vows were exchanged was transformed into a gorgeous reception tablescape. Guests helped shift the scene, and the result was an artfully styled setup where everyone could stay connected—sharing one long table.

A Five-Star Dining Experience at Home
To end the evening, Amanda and Reece treated their guests to the kind of meal you’d expect at a five-star restaurant—only it was served right at home. The Happy Cuisinière crafted an elevated plated dinner.
It was the perfect reflection of what their entire Silverthorne wedding day was about: not having to choose between cozy and elevated, intimate and luxurious. By prioritizing both connection and experience, Amanda and Reece created a wedding that felt high-end in style but grounded in heart. That’s what makes an unforgettable experience.

Straight From the Couple
“When we first started planning our wedding, we knew we wanted something intimate, but we also didn’t want to compromise on style or quality. From the moment we found Ryland, we felt like we were in the best possible hands. She immediately understood our vision for a small, luxury mountain wedding and brought it to life in ways we could have never imagined.
The VRBO in Silverthorne was perfect for us, and Ryland knew exactly how to make the most of its sweeping mountain views and beautiful interior. Every single photo feels like a piece of art.. She captured the grandeur of the Rockies and the warmth of our small guest list with equal intention. Her use of film photography gave the day a timeless, nostalgic feel that we will treasure forever.
She worked seamlessly with Annie the Flower Hunter to showcase the stunning fall-inspired installation, and somehow made the vibrant colors of October look even richer.
More than anything, Ryland made us feel completely at ease. She was calm, organized, and incredibly present, allowing us to be fully in the moment. Our friends and family keep telling us how much they love the photos, and we honestly can’t imagine our wedding without her. If you want someone who can blend documentary storytelling with editorial beauty—and make it all feel effortless—Ryland is the one.”
