Brīva Mīlestība Kalnos – “Free Love in the Mountains”—that’s what this day was all about. Liga and Andy’s Pikes Peak Ranch wedding was anything but ordinary. It was real, intentional, and rooted in Latvian tradition. They didn’t follow the rules. They didn’t need to. Instead, they carved out a space in the Colorado mountains where their story could unfold exactly how they wanted it to—wholesome, joy-filled, and free.

They met on a boat in Alaska, and right from the start, something just clicked. Liga connected instantly with Andy and his three boys, who were out there fishing. That spark grew into something beautiful—and when it came time to plan their wedding, there was never a question that it would be anything but theirs. This day was a reminder that love doesn’t have to look any one way.

So if you dream of a Colorado wedding that feels personal and blends heritage with soul, this one’s for you.

The Wedding Day at Pikes Peak Ranch in Colorado

The day unfolded at Pikes Peak Ranch, tucked in the heart of the Colorado mountains. The forecast called for rain (classic Colorado move), but somehow, with a little luck and a lot of vendor magic, the clouds held off just long enough. Everyone was ready to pivot if needed, but everything fell into place beautifully.

From the start, the energy was calm and cozy—wholesome in the best way. Liga’s Latvian heritage was woven throughout the ceremony and speeches, adding a sincere layer to the day. You could feel the meaning behind every word and tradition.

Their choreographed first dance began right as the sun dipped behind the mountains, lighting up the sky in this soft golden glow. It was truly an unreal sunset.

A Celebration Without Expectations

Andy and Liga’s wedding was such a reminder that you don’t have to follow a script to have a meaningful celebration. Every choice they made came from the heart—not from a checklist or tradition for tradition’s sake. They honored Liga’s Latvian roots, but they also weren’t afraid to skip the parts that didn’t resonate.

It’s proof that a wedding can be rooted in heritage without looking like anyone else’s. You can have ancestral practices and a sunset dance party. You can tear up during the ceremony and laugh your way through the toasts. There’s no one right way to get married—and that’s the magic.

If you’re someone who wants your wedding to feel like a reflection of you—not what Pinterest says it should be—this is your sign. Plan with intention. Break the rules. Keep what matters, toss what doesn’t, and create something that feels deeply, unapologetically yours.
